Through the medieval feuds between local families, Argegno held out as a fortified point until 1335, when it fell with the rest of the Como territory to the Visconti of Milan. The valley above gave the wider world something more lasting than a stronghold: generations of builders and stuccoworkers \u2014 the Carloni and Solari among them \u2014 who left the Val d’Intelvi to decorate churches and palaces across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
